End Citizens United Polls Show Beto O’Rourke Ahead

House Representative Beto O’Rourke is the Democrat from Texas that is running to unseat Senator Ted Cruz a Republican. Beto O’Rourke is currently serving his third term when he announced and started his Senate campaign in March 2017. Rep. O’Rourke is running his campaign platform on campaign finance reform and his tenure in the House has always centered around legislation to lessen big money in politics. Beto O’Rourke was one of the House democrats which co-sponsored the Democracy for all Amendment to help overturn the Citizens United decision from year 2010.

Rep. Beto O’Rourke said that his campaign would not take any money for PACs whether corporate or grassroot fundraisers, including organizations like End Citizens United. Pollsters believe that without PAC support, that Beto O’Rourke cannot unseat Ted Cruz. The Public Policy Polling put out a survey showing O’Rourke trailing Senator Ted Cruz by 8 points. End Citizens United supports Rep. Beto O’Rourke and they respect his decision not to accept any PAC fundraising monies, however The Pubic Policy Polling survey was paid for by End Citizens United to make sure that the pollster numbers are accurate.

The polling survey asked Texas voters about candidates accepting special interest money. The results identified Sen. Ted Cruz as a candidate who would be more responsive to receive corporate campaign donor monies and to represent corporate interests over Texas voters. Rep. Beto O’Rourke was seen more likely to care more about the issues that affect Texans and to work toward that end. Even though Rep. O’Rourke refuses to take PAC monies, Senator Ted Cruz has already accepted a little over a million dollars from corporate PACs.

With the End Citizens United polling survey results, they put their error margin at a 3.6 percentage that O’Rourke will have a slight edge over Cruz, but with special interest survey questions, the numbers may show that the lead that Senator Ted Cruz is shown to have may really be into the double digits. Keeping an ever-watchful eye on finance reform candidates to support their election campaigns, End Citizens United was created in 2015.

End Citizens United is totally sponsored by grassroot donors throughout the United States and they pressure lawmakers to take action against corporate finance systems in elections which is called ‘Big Money.’ End Citizens United believes that big money has a tendency to rig any political system. The voters in the District represented in this election and pollsters believe that Rep. Beto O’Rourke has an uphill battle, especially financially according to the filings with the Federal Elections Commission.
